Which of the four young men – Tybalt, Mercutio, Benvolio, or Romeo – do you admire most? Explain.
Assume that you witnessed these two deaths. Record your reactions. Then explain for a friend who does not live in Verona exactly how Mercutio was killed.From your point of view, do you think the Prince’s verdict was fair? Why or why not?

Like everyone else in Verona, you know Friar Lawrence. Describe him.
What kind of relationship do you have with the Friar? Do you confide in him as well?

You’ve seen the Nurse and Peter around the town. Describe them.

Responsibilities for students:
- Please always bring your copy of the play to class.
- Please read ahead the scenes we will be covering in each class.
- Be prepared to take notes by bringing a notebook.
- Email me in our course area (FirstClass) if you have any questions about the play that you think everyone would benefit from.
- Personal requests or information about classes should be directed to me personally in FirstClass.
- If you miss any classes for any reason, you are responsible for notifying me and finding notes from the class you missed.
- It is important that we get through ALL the material before the end of the school year, so please reserve questions you might have about the play to the FirstClass course area. I will do my best to answer your questions to the best of my ability within the same day that you have posted it.
- Because students will be posting questions about the play in the FirstClass area, it is up to you to check there periodically to view the responses to the questions. I will give up to 10 marks if I see that you have been accessing all the questions and responses.
