Set history
One of
the most original design ever, which makes this set very
appealing to the collectors. Although production numbers are
unknown, it seems like the cards from 1972 are easier to
find than the ones from the years right before or after.
This set generates a lot of action at local shows and on
eBay. Cards from the third series (395-525) demand a small
premium. Card #465 Gil Hodges is popular because it has a
death notice on front, while Topps didn't. This set is
identical to the 1972 Topps regular set, except it is
written <Printed in Canada> on the reverse and the backs are
bilingual.
